Mustard Theatre Company was founded in 2004 to present a wide variety of good quality drama to audiences that may not have access to any other local theatre.We do two or three productions a year, January-February and September-October, and optionally May. We
are a touring company and we normally perform in six
different venues per production, one performance per venue.
For Saturday performances we get into a venue, perform, and
get out, all in the same day. Friday performances are
usually helped out by starting the 'get-in' the previous
Sunday. The get-Ins and get-outs are an all-hands-on-deck affair, with everybody involved. We are all actors, and have no separate non-acting back-stagers, technical desk operators, lighting or sound designers or programmers, set constructors or directors. Instead, all of us are involved in at least two and often more of each of these areas: three of our number are directors, four are technical programmers, most have operated the technical desk, and we are all keen to improve our craft. We are a relatively small group, which is not a geograhically based, and we operate with an invited membership. Numbers have grown, with some ups and downs, to around ten active members now.
